“5* fitters, 1* after sales service.”

written by on 03/06/2014

Friendly staff and salesperson/design expert, to begin with.

There were no dramas, pre-sales. We even received a 20% discount on our fitted wardrobes, and he'd came in to work on the day that he was going on holiday to finalise the deal (get his % share).

Once the surveyor had been and everything was given the green light, we were given a date on which it would be fitted.

Very good stuff, so far.

The day before the fitting was due to take place my girlfriend receives a phone-call from the delivery driver stating that he'll be delivering the parts in 30 mins, is this ok?

Thankfully she was @ college and not work, and could come home to accept this.

She then phones the salesperson to ask what time the fitters are arriving @,
''I don't know!?'', was his response. Strange in that pre-order he was contacting us and was every so friendly. He was even asking us if we were ok, with life itself.

We had to contact the fitter, after asking the salesman (money grabber) for his mobile no. Why he couldn't have done this for us we don't know?
Although we didn't want to leave this painstaking task to him, as he clearly wasn't able to get a % fee from it, and we possibly may not have found out, but we'll never know as we took to the task ourselves.

On the day of the fit 2 people arrived exactly on time, and left 5 hours later.

We had a slight problem with the lay-out of the wardrobes, which the fitter explained to me and simply rectified them.

Top marks to the fitters.

The next problem we encountered was the big orange sack of card and polystyrene left over, which we found after numerous phone calls that b&q would kindly remove it for us, despite not actually paying for this service. Why we weren't informed about this @ the time of the sale, possibly because it's to do with aftersales and they could just fob us off, being simply the Joe Blogg public.

This was removed on the 2nd time of asking, which is a shame as I was going to take it back to them and hand it over to the returns till.

Returning it after hours and leaving it filled with cement in front of the entrance doors had crossed my mind.
