“good experience with GOLDCAR”

We rented a car (VW Polo, almost new - only 2000 km on speedometer) in Girona airport for 4 days. We traveled from Spain to France – that’s why we paid additional insurance abt 35 Euros. We took full/full fuel policy which means you get a car with full fuel tank and leave a deposit 88 Euros and if returned with full tank You get these money back. Please note if You take flex fuel policy - they state that You will pay only what You would use – in fact if You take a car for 3 days or less, You will really pay only for the petrol You used, BUT if You take a car for more that 3 days – You get a car with full fuel tank and this pre-paid petrol is non-refundable, so whether You return it half-empty or almost full You will not get the money You paid back. So if You take a car with flex fuel policy for more than 3 days – in fact it works as full/empty policy – when You take a car with full tank and return with empty. We also took super relax coverage which means you don’t need to leave a franchising deposit in the amount of 650 Euros. We heard some tourists from Germany damning as they didn’t want to give their card for franchising deposit also they didn’t want to take super relax coverage which costs a bit more than 20 Euros per day - finally Gold Car representative refused to give them a car. Please note that they refused to take any cash - bank card only! As to taking / returning procedures – to take a car it took about 30 minutes as there were other people queuing at Girona Goldcar Desk. To return the car – we parked it on Goldcar parking, and just gave the key the same place we took it without entering into the queue. The total sum we paid was about 180 Euros for 4 days with full/full fuel policy, travelling to France and with super relax coverage. All in all as I was informed about all the details by other bloggers I was able to avoid many hidden pitfalls. And if back to Spain I would happily use Goldcar in future.
