Wholeheartedly recommend the planbot tool which tells you what to eat, based on your food preferences, on a meal by meal basis. It's a great way of re-educating yourself if you have got into bad habits, or even if you just don't realise how calorific your regular diet is. Daily logging of meals is essential, and the WLR database is enormous. If you can't find exactly what you want, you can find something which is really close and enter that instead. You've still got to have a lot of self discipline, but the whole database is so simple there's no excuse. What are you waiting for?
