“Best phone I've owned!”

written by MyseriousShopper on 18/05/2014

I've had this HTC desire 500 for about three months and it is without doubt the best I've had. I am not a phone geek so cannot drone on about tech spec get that from the sales man. What I can do is share my experiences as an actual user. It has a nice large, clear screen that is great for watching video playback. The operation is fast and smooth.

Camera is excellent and has all the features you would expect for editing and sharing pictures. My handset is on the 3 network and although coverage isn't excellent it IS adequate and certainly a good value plan. It comes loaded with a good selection of applications, lots of which I don't use but many I do so it is sure to appeal to most. In fact personalisation of the handset is simple and has infinite permutations!

I will comment that I have big hands which is great for typing with the screen size but not so good as it took a little time to adjust my sausage thumbs to the small keys on the pad.

Battery life is strong. I only usually need to charge overnight and I do use it a lot.
Before signing up to it I had read lots of whinging about memory and this concerned me but actually it is fine. It can accept an sd card that makes it's capacity to hold photos, music, files etc. massive.

Talking of music it features HTC beats audio through it's headphones which creates a really rich sound.

Also featured is a newsfeed front page BlinkFeed from HTC that is really clever as it draws from a selectionof media sources including your own Facebook that can be customized to suit but I don't really use it myself.

The only true criticism I have of the HTC 500 is the dreadful volume buttons. I keep the phone in a case which makes it worse but they are really difficult to find.
