“Algeciras & Hotel Reina Christina”

"What's not to like" became our catchphrase for the week.
Hotel was old world colonial style, rather charming, clean and comfortable. Lovely well kept grounds. Staff were pleasant & generally efficient. Reception somewhat understaffed at times. We liked the range & quality of food, if a little cool at times, but that's often the case with buffet style. Ice creams & desserts were V.good. Hotel "taken over" for a few days by Spanish school parties on an athletics event locally. They behaved reasonably and didn't spoil our week.

Algeciras had more to offer than expected. You just had to keep an open mind and open eyes to see & experience the nice parts.
Organised a wonderful bird watching trip with "Birding Tarifa" - excellent guide. Train trip to visit Ronda was excellent. Briefly saw significant Roman ruins locally which we will need to explore on a future trip !
Weather was excellent all week (27/4 - 4/5) as were flights, transfers and package price - "What's not to like"
