“Not good when your making a claim”

Booked holiday through travel republic, when we arrived our hotel was closed and we had to find alternative accommodation for the first night until they sorted us out the next day. We ended up paying an extra 190 euros for our nights stay, food and cab fares to the next hotel. Travel republic assured me that I would received a full refund for the hotel, they even said they could pay for it by card but it would take longer and we needed to get to the next hotel. Foolishly I paid this myself cash. Since returning hotel almost 5 weeks ago, I have only just received a reply to my claim and they are offering me half of what we paid out. I have now phoned several times but can not speak to anyone of any significance and just get told they are waiting for a reply from Hotelbeds. They also want to refund the money on to my credit card that I originally paid for the holiday with and not into my current account. I feel Travel Republic are fine until there is a problem and then they don't want to know. Will definitely think twice before booking with them again.
