“argos refused my free item with specific purchase”

I bought some nerf guns from argos and it said in the catalogue that if i spent £25 or more on nerf products i would get a free '75 pack' of nerf darts, but when i asked for my free darts, i was refused because the guns i bought were half price even though the total was still more than £25. In the catalogue there is nothing stating that i cant have my darts due to the guns being half price but the person behind the counter was adamant that i wasnt allowed my free darts
