“Hammersmith Branch Sucks. ”

Had a rotten experience with Hammersmith store this evening. Went to buy boots for my ten year old as hers got wrecked at the beach. No children's boots available in her size. Was shown two pairs of adult boots, one priced at circa £50 and one at £99.99. She was really keen on the more expensive pair and after walking around the store for a few minutes thought that they were comfortable. She wore these away, walked across the shopping precinct and took (we counted this later) ten steps into the street and realised that they were rubbing. I made her take them off and we returned instantly to the store. The store refused to refund/exchange these saying that the sole was showing signs of wear ven though there was no argument about the fact that she had been wearing these for under 5 mins! Child in tears, me shell shocked. Will never buy from Clarks again. Please do not buy into this 28 day returns policy of Clarks. It is pants. If they can find a way to wiggle out of it they will, certainly at the Hammersmith store on a Sunday. "Unworn" literally means precisely that.
