“Used to be so good...”

Asos used to be the most fantastic shopping website for clothing. I have ordered over 20 times with them since maybe around 2 years ago. However, within the last 2 months they have gone downhill at huge speed. Around christmas time, when they should be the most 'crazy busy' of the year, i was getting my items with free standard delivery which was effectively next day! It was fantastic, using my student discount and then having the stuff delivered free next day! Lately though, the standard delivery has been the only free option (fair enough), but then i ordered a shirt from the sale last friday. My account was debited, and i waited until today (5 days since i placed it) only for asos to email me tonight telling me that the item i had ordered and paid for was out of stock!!! This is after they had taken the trouble to process the order and charge me for it. I wouldn't have minded if i had an email saying sorry the item was out of stock that night or the day after, but 5 days is a bit of a joke. 'Crazy busy' or not, they should be checking stock before they charge someone for something that doesn't exist. Personally, i think a premium member has ordered after me and been prioritised over a free member. Such a shame, as before now i actually thought this was the best site for clothes, and had never had a problem with them at all. I don't know what's happened recently, but Asos needs to get its act together or they'll be losing a faithful customer.
