“Nothern Lights short break in Iceland”

Written on: 11/03/2014 by MargueritePhillips (1 review written)

Have just returned from a 3 night break in Rekjavik. The flight with WOW Air was excellent, the transfers worked smoothly and excursions arranged by Fleetway through Gray Line Iceland were superb. It was well worth spending a good 5 hours in the Blue Lagoon and we had a more adventurous tour of the Golden Circle than forseen as the blizzard conditions, which made the news headliines over there, closed the roads just after our bus had got through the mountains! Hats off to our driver! We spent 5 hours hunting the lights which were so elusive that we did not see them with the naked eye but they were caught on our camera.

We stayed in Hotel Fron which was excellently situated for the centre but our room was very tiny and the bathroom was fairly basic as was breakfast.
Our son and a friend were in the Centre Hotel Plaza which was much more up-market and also very central.

This was a great taster holiday and we would certainly go again.
