“I AM REALLY WORRIED HAVING READ THESE REVIEWS !! ”

i have booked a wedding here for my daughter and paid a deposit already. During our initial meeting a year ago we discussed canapés drinks and costs of reception meal etc . i was told that this would all be confirmed in writing and am still waiting .
i was also told that my daughter and i would be invited to lots of events so that the we would build a strong rapport with the team, as yet nothing. i have emailed to discuss chair covers and costs (as i was informed at a wedding fair that Boreham won't allow anyone other than a family member to offer this service ... no one has come back to me.
We were also told in that initial meeting that 6 months before the wedding we would be invited to a meeting to discuss the wedding guest numbers , menu and have a tasting session and that we would be asked to pay half of the full balance.
Recently my future son in law received an email with a date for that 6 month meeting instructing payment of over £7,000, not a problem until something came up that meant we couldn't make the day of the meeting. we were then instructed to pay the £7,000+ on that same day before another meeting could be arranged. Why would i pay out more than £7,000 on top of the £1,000 pound deposit I have already paid before i have had a proper meeting to discuss and have confirmed
what we are getting for our money?
i have heard several poor reviews other than those on here please can you reassure my lack of confidence at the moment?
