Good Points
small and cheap. It acts like a phone and allows clear communications.

Bad Points
no alarm function, ringtone not loud enough for outdoor use, unable to check the number of the last caller, unable to salectively erase the missed caller list (all or nothing), horrible display, messaging via the A40 is a major pain in the ...

General Comments
The Siemens A40 is small, its cheap, its functional on a very basic level. And for some it is what they are after. But even the everyday use of this phone has reminded me how much I miss my Nokia6150.

The display is usable just with only 1 line of text allowed. the keypad is nice and tactile and one button quiet mode is nice. What I miss the most from this phone is the last caller number display and the alarm function. Its a small thing that makes it impossible for me to think of this phone as a longer term keeper.

If you want just a phone.... cheap... buy it maybe.
