I booked a holiday with Travel Republic almost seven months in advance of travelling in September 2013. Paid the final balance when due, but four days before travelling I was told by email that the hotel had overbooked and we had been changed to another hotel which was not one I would have chosen or in an area I would have chosen.
During the next three days trying to resolve this, Travel Republics Customer Service Team were not only unhelpful but downright rude.

I ended up booking a suitable hotel at a bigger cost ( Last minute etc )and also went into the original hotel and confirmed that I was never booked into it.

When queried after arriving home, Travel Republic flatly denied any contractual liability and that my contract was with their Booking Agent who are noted on all paperwork. So effectively Travel Republic can walk away from this with no liability whatsoever. So I would say " BEWARE "
