“Happy Enough”

Written on: 01/01/2014

I nervously placed my order of 5 pairs of trainers from the "sale" section on 30th December around 18:30hrs, hoping against hope that all would go well for next day delivery. The next day, all went well until I received a text from Yodel advising me that my parcel had been delivered at midday! Impossible as I had been home at the time and not received the goods. I looked online and made a call.A Yodel rep informed me that a signature had been received. Who's? For which house number? A neighbouring house? All of which could be answered as the driver had neglected to note this down on their system. All she could advise me was to call Sports Direct and inform them, saying this would be classified as an "incident" as the driver was to blame since important information was missing about where he had left the package.
Fortunately, after a lot of stress and knocking on a number of trusty neighbours' doors, I located my stray package. All contexts intact, good condition, packaged in shoddy, damaged boxes but hey, at 70% off that's not major.Got my trainers in time for my flight abroad so "yay for Sport Direct and boo for Yodel".
I like my gigantic mug + magazine and whilst they did pop into my basket without my choosing (words of advice: Pay attention!), I did notice and had the option of removing them but did not since I was interested.
Overall, no problem outside of communication around the delivery system which I guess is not bad for a person shopping online for the first time.
