Having worked on Vaillant appliances for the past fifteen years, I would never have had a bad word said about them. They were engineered to such a high standard and were truly the Mercedes of boilers, built to last as was said. From around 2005, when the new condensing eco-tec range were being fitted, a few common faults were cropping up but this was half expected as this new range was a prototype and these small problems were almost certain to be rectified/corrected in newer models to come, except they weren't! New boilers which are less than a year old are already needing new gas valves, diverter valves, pcb's, pressure sensors and even expansion vessels. I wouldn't recommend these boilers to anyone and certainly wouldn't install one. Go for Worcester Greenstar range, Potterton/Baxi and you wont be dreading what will happen after your warranty expires!
