“Unhelpful distressing disgraceful customer service”

I booked a holiday to Egypt in June for 8 travellers 6 of them elderly. I paid the internet price and confirmed price with family. I was then later contacted by travelbag to say that prices quoted were wrong had not been updated then advised it would be over £100 extra per person. The adviser then discredited the competition saying I would not find it cheaper and that there was a price guarantee and I could cancel within 14 days. Circumstances forced me to try and cancel mainly that my mum was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. I tried to cancel and was told no. I wrote a letter of complaint only to receive a stern letter from their company solicitor threatening that I would not get a penny refunded. I advised them that call was recorded and asked for copy but to no avail I was told that I would lose the full £2400 that I had paid. Unable to get any redress from them I then continued to as how I could book luggage reserved seats and to confirm that the hotel we were staying at would book in all close together. After 2o yes 20 emails and three months later and only 5 weeks to my holiday I have not had a response. I had a call from a manager 5 weeks ago who promised to look into it and since then he has not called me back and ignored all my mails. 15 emails to there customer care department ignored. Promised this Thursday everything would be sorted out and now Monday and still no response. They are aware that holiday is to celebrate 80th birthday of father in law who has terminal cancer that mum has Alzheimer's mum in law has had a stroke my dad has asbestos on his lungs and this is prob last holiday we have together abroad. No response. Disgraceful. Avoid like the plague they just dismiss you with utter contempt and leave you feeling inadequate and very frustrated. I could go on for a lot longer here with my complaint but this will suffice to make the reader understand my feeling. Thank you for reading
