“Damaged Packaging, No Responsibility Taken!!”

On the Friday I placed an order which was a small compact mirror and I requested it be delivered for Next Day before 1pm. I paid a very large sum of £7.95 for this delivery option as it was a gift and I urgently needed it delivered. Which was actually more than the mirror. When the parcel arrived in the agreed timescale I opened the parcel to find the packaging was badly damaged. It looked as thought the plastic case had been cut open with a knife and was left sharp edged and the product uncontained.
I am incredibly disappointed given I spent so much money on the delivery and it is badly damaged. So much so I had to give the present without its packaging as it looked pre-opened. The worst thing is I can’t imagine how this could have been damaged in delivery as it was literally cut open. So it was taken from the warehouse and packaged damaged like this. No care has been taken. I emailed the "care" team and was advised nothing could be done unless it was returned. It was too late for it to be returned as obviously by my next day before 1pm delivery - it was urgently needed and the gift was given. They refused to help further and I was left feeling under valued as a customer. I won't be shopping there again or recommending to anyone.
