“Customer Service appalling”

I have had good service from this company in the past, but my recent experiences are leading me to believe they cannot continue to do business successfully. Having placed an order, converting sizes as they suggested, the shoes didn't fit... so I returned them at my own expense for the size I would have ordered if I hadn't followed their guidelines. I heard nothing for 4 weeks and was unable to contact them by phone or email. The phone lines simply cut off once they rung for a certain time. I then received a credit to my account for the amount paid less postage (the shoes have now cost me as much in postage as the original price). I purchased the product elsewhere. Another 3 weeks later, they took the price of the shoes from my account again and sent me another pair - again with no communication. I now have a pair of shoes I don't want, have paid twice the price for them with all the postage costs and would have to return them at my own expense again - not financially worth it. Don't trust a company that takes money from your card with no communication!
