I'd never used an online money exchange before and as I had a bit of time I looked into it. I was looking for Croatian Kunas and spent about a week watching the rates fluctuate. In the end I settled for this company and read the Terms & Conditions.

I didn't much like the fact that I had to send off proof of address and ID but this is the law and has to be done. Anyway, I was worried because they appeared to be asking for bank statements to confirm my address, and as I'd only lived in my new flat for 2 weeks this evidence was not available. So I phoned them and they reassured me that that was not a problem and all I had to do was send a copy of my Council Tax bill. But then I realised.... I don't have access to a printer, a photo copier or a scanner.... No problem! All I had to do was take some photos and email them! So out came the iPhone!

To be honest I was worrying for nothing. The whole process was quick, simple and painless. I can assure you there are no hidden catches, cons or small print.

The only thing I would like to see an improvement on is communication. Once you've sent your payment, you do not get an email to acknowledge safe receipt. To be assured of the rate you want you should pay by Faster Payment as this reaches them within minutes. Once they've received your money they process your order - but you won't know this until the next day when they send you an email with the Royal Mail tracking number.

I cannot recommend this company enough. No tricks, no hidden extras and no small print.
