“St George's South, Corfu”

Written on: 24/09/2013 by pphill40 (1 review written)

A great little resort, visited in September when there were few people around. There is a huge all-inclusive resort at one end of the resort but this does not seem to crowd out the town, though that part of the beach remains busy. The coastline at the resort is quite long and effectively split between a busier part and a quiet part in terms of restaurants and bars. The restaurants serve a good variety of food at reasonable prices.

Travel by public transport is limited, as the resort has only two buses a day to Corfu town, though there are more from the main Kavos/Corfu road, which is about a 20-minute walk from the resort. Olympic also provide the usual range of excursions

Star studios is in a quiet location with nearby supermarkets. Other hotels let you use their pool facilities as long as you buy something from the bar, so this adds to the variety of locations to sunbathe, etc

Flights with Germania were excellent but we were forced to wait 30 minutes on the plane after arriving at Manchester airport when the ground handling company provided 3 coaches but apparently did not think about providing disembarkation steps!

All in all a great week away with no real hassles
