Metallica, St. Anger - "Could I have my wasted days...”

written by GiantElectric on 28/12/2004

Good Points
The lyrics are about the only good thing on the album with some interesting personal insight.

Bad Points
Musically, it`s just sounds Sooo bad.

General Comments
Metallica, St. Anger - "Could I have my wasted days back?" Hetfield growls on the opening `Frantic`... "Could we all have our wasted money back...?" We all scream in responsive unison. I squirmed in shock after hearing this album but understood, in fact; this has some diverse artistic integrity behind it. An effort by Metallica to destroy metal and set the clock back to zero. The boys have decided to try eliminating the genre & bring thousands of inspired copycat clones to their knees with this revolutionary throwback. Their intention: rejuvenate the whole tired genre by releasing total backward rubbish, (on a plate, served with mangy fries & a side salad of poop) - Thousands should follow. Reverse musical engineering at its best, it`s mad but it may just work! A finger to the fans and the industry - See, I don't miss a thing. Next summer will give way to hoards of other albums which all sound like total junk too. The genre will collapse under poor sales and so eventually, hail the new & original acts & the birth of a new m.e wave. Maybe it would have been a good idea if Metallica hadn't tried to emulate Sepultura & Pantera on Special K with a poor production budget (because they were actually quite good bands in their day). Next time guys - try doing a few White Stripes & Hoobastank combo's & beware the k-hole . hmmm?

I would thoroughly recommend downloading this album, burn a copy for a coaster, a copy for your sis, your uncle benny & continue to share it through various fpt sites.
