“AVOID AT ALL COSTS”

written by on 05/09/2013

I bought a car from Fengate a while ago, and would never advise someone to do the same. We noticed that the tyres were barely legal, and they were reluctant to do anything about them, so we (eventually) got them to knock a bit off due to this. However it then took a turn for the worse. I took the car to be checked out independently the following day, and I was told that the break discs were the worse my mechanics had ever seen, and should never have passed an MOT. So my mechanics fitted new tyres, break pads and discs. When they took the car for a drive to break them in, a bang came from the engine, and the rev count started increasing on its own. It transpired that the turbo had gone. We had only had the car for 5 days! So I rang the garage to explain what had happened, and seeing that I had been given a 3 month warranty for engine and gear box problems, I was expecting them to do something about it. Suprise suprise they didn't. According to Fengate motors, a turbo has nothing to do with the engine of a car!!! Convenient for them. However, after getting a little threatening with them, they asked me to bring the car in. So, after hiring a trailer to take the car to Fengate motors, we were first told that they had found a bolt in the engine, and they tried to make out we had broken it on purpose. I'm sorry but what imbecile creates a £1000+ problem for themselves? So they advised me that they were then going to fix the turbo on the warranty after more pressure from us.. Wait, it gets better. Upon collection of my car, having been fixed, Ozzy, the sales guy was avoiding handing over the car keys, and had the cheek to ask for £300 towards the cost of repair!!!!! You couldn't even make it up. So after 15 mins of asking for the car keys, we walked out and drove off in the car, little did they remember about the spare key!!!!! Idiots. 3 months down the line, the car starts having problems again, thanks to the newly fitted turbo!!!!! From my experience I don't need to stress avoiding to buy a car from this company, hopefully half way through my review, your mind would have been made up about them too.
