Generally speaking getting through to RAC isn't too bad, and if they're busy they'll ring you back (albeit not exactly quickly). So from a customer service perspective, they seem ok.
However, be aware of cancellation charges they attempt to charge. Even if you pay the whole amount up front, you may end up owing them money. This is stated in the terms of business, but is also made of mockery of in their short period cancellation notes applicable to the actual policy where they state they will work out a charge for the time you have been covered and the refund available (a sliding scale of 75% to nil). If you have such a policy, nowhere do they state that the cancellation charge is separate from their short period cancellation rates; I find this kind of sales tactic reprehensible, and would therefore avoid them.
