Penguin 2.0 is Google’s latest algorithm update, designed to reduce the number of websites ranking highly in search engine result pages through black hat SEO techniques. Since this came into effect on the 23rd of May, Bonne International has seen an increase of 33% across all of their ranking search terms, with no changes to our page 1 ranking—all terms which were achieving high results before the update are still in place.
Since Bonne International began working with Click Consult in July 2012, we have enjoyed consistently strong results. Of the 48 keyword terms being optimised by Click Consult, Bonne International ranked organically for only 17 of these at the start of the project; post-Penguin 2.0, we now rank for 32 of those terms—meaning our visibility for organic search has almost doubled. On average, since Click Consult launched Bonne International’s SEO campaign, 7.5% of visitors now make an online enquiry or register their details. Organic traffic is the dominant factor for the company, and 48% of traffic to the site comes solely from organic search.
