Good Points
I was sceptical about using one of these things again, as I had had a dreadful experience in the 80's with a Dickensian model! A friend recommended it, so I threw caution to the wind and tried again! The most important thing, I think, is to start using the epilator after being recently waxed. That way you are not starting on a very hairy limb, and it gives you time to get used to the sensation. I give my legs a quick whizz every other day, thereabouts, and they've remained relatively hair free. The epilator also lifts up the hairs as it plucks, good for those pesky ingrowing hairs.
Bad Points
It would hurt a lot if you tried it on a totally hairy, previously unwaxed leg. I find it quite tolerable on my lower limbs, but it was unbearable on my armpits, and it brought tears to my eyes when I dared to venture near the dreaded bikini line.
General Comments
All in all the Braun SP3470 Epilator has saved me a fortune in professional waxing. I will still get waxed a few times a year, then keep things at bay with the epilator.
It works. It's not TOO painful. It's easy to use.
