“Aydem Hotel Turgutreis”

Written on: 15/07/2013

Hotel was old and dated but clean and the showers are really not as bad as reported earlier. Great location, right on the beach and about 20 mins walk into town. Manageress very helpful when we wanted to change rooms after one night due to road noise and early morning rooster. Breakfast OK but a bit repetitive. Worst thing about this hotel was lack of service at the bar. The boys would ignore you, preferring to spend time on their mobile phones or talking amongst themselves. We waited twenty mins for a menu to be brought over one lunchtime and in the end got up and got it ourselves. Then waited another 20 mins for them to take our order before giving up and using next door at the Skysea where the service was fantastic. Loads of places to eat in the town or on the walk into town and did not have a bad meal the whole time we were there. Incredibly cheap to eat out and plenty of choice but would recommend the fish which is obviously fresh each day. Our best find was Can, right in the middle of town behind Uncles, every meal was delicious. Try the Target bar in town, run by a great Turkish guy who has spent a lot of time in England and fun to chat to.
