“could be better”

I was led to believe initially that goods would be supplied in 4 days so paid extra, this was a grey area ! Sent order & responded immediately to proofing. Then received 2 separate emails telling me to respond 2 days apart. I then decided to phone last Saturday, asked to speak to Carl but was told that he was busy & would phone back asap, no phone call was ever received ! Then received another email asking me to proof on 26th june & immediately received another email telling me that goods had been dispatched !
I cannot fault the quality but sizing as with most companies is awry. I always order XL as I like my tops baggy but this top is more like a 2XL on me, this leads me to believe that I could have ordered a medium & it would have been correct. I was going to order 14 tops for my club but held off in case of this very issue thank god I did. Some companies quote XL as 40/42" others quote 42/44" all very confusing ? Hence we are never sure what will arrive. A few years back I took a chance on ordering some special T shirts, I ordered 15 but alas the sizing was way out hence my reticence this time, sleeves were about 3" too long & the XL was @ least 2XL if not 3XL but I couldn't return them due to being special order. I should add that this was not yourselves !
All the tops I require are of varying sizes have you any suggestions ? I did want the tops for our tour in july but now don't have the confidence to place an order, I cannot wear the top I ordered as a template as it is far too large. This was meant to be a surprise for the club members but I can't take a chance on guessing their sizes as mine was so far adrift.
