“what customer service?”

I've just had the misfortune of being overcharged by Avis - they double charged me for the same booking. After spending much time on their confusing website chasing customer services (even their own Central Reservations office couldn't give me the right number to contact)and 7 phone calls later (costing more than £20) I am still angry and frustrated at this time-wasting exercise.
They have finally agreed to process their mistake (perhaps the mention of my bank pursuing them helped)but they refused to consider compensating me for all the time and expenses in sorting out their error - not even as a simple gesture of goodwill.

DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE - there are many other firms which can provide good cars AND a reasonable level of customer service.
