My daughter flew for the first time with her 9 month old today from Phoenix to Chicago. She asked the gate attendant if she could board early so they could get settled in and put away all the things babies need hauled around with them. The snarky gate attendant informed her they haven't done that for young children in 10 years! So have we lost all civility at the airlines? Is there no common courtesy left amongst the airlines? What is absurd is my husband is an United Elite frequent flyer and saw this same airline pre-board for parents in the last 2 weeks. So why not her?? In any case, if you see a mom struggling to load her baby, offer a helping hand. Atthe very least, be patient with her if it takes her awhile to get settled in. It's not her fault she's holding up the line its the airlines. Keep in mind mom is feeling the pressure to get out of the way but to also to keep baby happy!
