“HARBOUR DELI & CAFE ? " WOW ! THE BEST IN COOMBE...”

written by johnwataboy on 02/06/2013

are you thinking of holidaying in north DEVON, such as ilfracombe or coombe MARTIN, NEARBY,THEN there are several holiday parks NEARBY. we always choose john FOWLER'S, sandaway beach holiday SITE, situated at the nearby village of coombe MARTIN. just a few hundred yards down the hill from the holiday PARK, and you are in the village where there are a number of small shops and CAFES. if you choose to eat OUT, instead of self CATERING,AND want a substantial breakfast to start the DAY, then i DON'T think you will not find better than 'THE harbour DELI'CAFE at coombe MARTIN., which is on the opposite side of the road to the 'CASTAWAY CAFE'. the 'HARBOUR DELI' is a small cafe with a seating capacity for approximately 20 CUSTMERS. it also has a delicatessan counter from which customers can CHOOSE, various local fresh produce such as cooked MEATS, CHEESES, pate ETCETERA, to take AWAY. if you are having a self catering HOLIDAY, but would rather choose to eat OUT, then the 'HARBOUR DELI' cafe in coombe martin VILLAGE, is the place to GO. they will cook you a large 'ALL day BREAKFAST'FROM the time you ORDER. everything freshly cooked there and then on the spot whilst you WAIT. (APPROX 15 MINUTES, and well worth waiting FOR).SIMPLY choose a table and take a SEAT, the waitress will attend your table and take your ORDER. when your breakfast arrives and is placed on or TABLE, it is so substantially big and APPEALING, that you do not know whether you should photograph IT, or eat IT. we did SO, because i am sure that people would not believe the quality and size of IT, by just describing it to THEM. the plate was LARGE, and the breakfast completely filled its large AREA. it included 2 x SAUSAGES, 2 x fried eggs (SOFT YOLK), 2 rashers of BACON, TOMATO, portion of MUSHROOMS, 2 x large round portions of black pudding (IF you like IT). a portion of saute POTATOES, and a good portion of quality baked BEANS. there was no more room on the plate upon which they could have placed anything ELSE. choose your SAUCES, brown or RED. added to that we had TOAST, 2 x pats of quality BUTTER, and washed down with a delicious mug of a locally blended 'MILES' TEA. wow !...AND how much did all that come to ? only £5.99. not a lot to pay considering that it would fill you up to the EXTENT, that you would not want for anymore food for the rest of the DAY. as stated all the breakfast items are of fresh local produce and of good QUALITY, and this comes through to you in the flavour and savour of each item on your plate the harbour deli cafe is a family run BUSINESS, and service is very GOOD. each of the staff are pleasant and POLITE,AND service comes with a smile and a thank YOU; which can be so lacking in many other cafes or RESTAURANTS. the cafe itself is exceptionally clean and they have been awarded a food and hygiene safety certificate by the local council (WHICH is displayed on the cafe WALL). for your all day breakfast at the 'HARBOUR deli & CAFE, at coombe MARTIN, make sure you attend there before 3.30PM to 4.00PM at the LATEST. you WON'T find a better BREAKFAST, freshly COOKED, and good quality local produce at such a reasonable price for what you PAY...AND DON'T FORGET, that includes your TEA, toast and butter as WELL. wow ! i feel bloated just talking about IT! give it a TRY. i promise you WON'T be SORRY.
