“My advice: stay away”

Written on: 28/05/2013

From someone with a background in underwriting, it's amateur hour at Guaranteed Rate.

With emails so rife with both spelling and grammatical errors, I wonder about the credibility and professionalism of the underwriters and loan officers. Isn't client interaction and continued referral worth at least the two seconds it takes to run spellcheck?

The underwriting policies are past the point of archaic, reminiscent of recessionary lending; they need to be extensively reviewed. Some of the questions and requirements had NOTHING to do with lending. For example, my tax refund deposit didn't match up to what was on my tax return due to turbo-tax fees mostly. I had to go through and explain the discrepancy. What does this have to do with getting a home mortgage loan. If I have faxed something to you a week ago, please check your fax machine before calling me and disturbing me at work.

I can't say it enough - stay away!
