“No wonder they are disappearing off the radar”

Written on: 18/05/2013

The people at phanfare understand nothing about business. There aren't too many services that delete all your data when you don't return to the site for a year, like Phanfare. They would make more money and get return business if they knew that by keeping your data, you may actually have interest in coming back as a customer someday to recover old pictures they've lost. Too bad they throw it away, pretty much giving possible returning customers zero incentive to ever return. Instead, they try to give you as many warnings as possible that they are going to delete your photos if you don't keep paying. Making it seem like you have to pay a ransom to save your photos from deletion.

They do things like offer lifetime service, have you pay for it, then refund your money, then start charging you periodically so that they can take more money from you for the same service you would have got if they stuck to what they promised. It is almost criminal.

Also, the layout that they provide is generic, and it reminds me of the web of 10 years ago. Basically, flat two color web pages with no curves like something out of Microsoft Front Page templates. It may have been ok like 7 years ago, but it is unbearable now.
