★★★★☆

“Overall, this book was alright. Like I said before,...”

written by on 17/06/2008

Good Points
I really liked that this book showed characteristics of the characters. All throughout the book you hear of the loyalty and bravery that they have. They look death right in the face, and aren't afraid of it. they also are willing to stay with their friends until the end, even though they could have left and never come back. also, there were some funny things that happened in the book. The main characters came across a native tribe, and that tribe saw the bare, white legs of one of the characters. By the end of the book they are worshiping those legs. King Soomon's Mines definitely have positive points.

Bad Points
There is a lot of violence in the book. You hear of thousands of deaths that weren't necessary. Also, there was a lot of superstition in the book, which really disappointed me. I would have liked the book to stay the way it started, travelling to unknown lands and just the traveling part of things, not the curel killings and superstition.

General Comments
Overall, this book was alright. Like I said before, it definitely has its good points and bad points. I think that the excessive violence and the nonsense superstition could have been left out, but that, my thoughts. the author did a very good job of getting your attention and keeping it. For me, this book was alright, but not the best one that I have read.
