“Viking Tricycle”

Viking Tricycle

I live in a fairly isolated area and my intention is to supplement my car in order save fuel and have a backup means of transportation.

A grossly inadequate instruction manual accompanies the machine and describes those with two wheels and does not relate directly to this model. The ‘detailed’ diagrams are photographs providing no relevant information. I’m reminded of purchasing a computer without any instructions then having to experiment in its use. There is no information relating to the removal of the rear wheels or servicing the disc brake; data which might be needed in the future. There is a tendency to assume the potential user has prior knowledge.

The tricycle looks very good and has an ample luggage tray. The item is supplied largely assembled apart from the need to hinge and lock the front wheel in position, tighten the pedals and fit the handlebars. I have no previous experience of cycles so was briefly puzzled when installing the latter.

I found the cycle tended to rock and feel unsteady when ridden then discovered that the tyres are only partially inflated when the unit is despatched (the recommended pressures are imprinted in the rubber on the side of each). It was more stable once I’d purchased a foot pump and rectified the problem.

I’m pleased with the machine which should be ideal for its purpose but would advise that a better instruction/maintenance manual be provided.
