“flight delay”

We were sent off the plane due to bad weather condition at destination. We need to make connection so went to the customer service, then were told there was nothing AA could do since it was weather condition. So why did they let us know before sending us to the customer service. Before getting off the plane, we were told to check about the next flight with the agent, the agent just told us about the terminal of the next flight, they do not even have a way to check the departure time of other airlines of not willing to help out. Then I remembered to check it with my cell phone in a couple of minutes. I think they should be able to do it faster if I could do it.
