“2 faults in 3 years and no support from Beko”

Purchased a Beko washine machine WMD87144 in February 2010. Within a few months it had developed a fault (wire broke off behind from panel). Repair was carried out under warranty. 2 years and 11 months after purchase, it has developed another fault. This time it leaks water at the front of the appliance under the drum. It is unaccessable and impossible to see exactly where it's coming from without the removal of some parts. I have written to Beko to explain the situation, insisting on the fact that this sort of defect should not occur after such a short period of time and sking for financial support to get the appliance repaired. Beko have refused without even offering any alternatives or gesture of goodwill. I am obviously extremly disappointed and will not buy another Beko appliance. Having made some enquiries with the Legal Advice Dept. of my house insurance company I understand that such a product should reasonably be expected to function properly at least 6 to 7 years and that The Sale of Goods Act 1979 makes it an implied term of the contract that goods be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose. As my appliance is not, I have written to the company I bought this product from and will take things further if necessary. Apparently Beko appliances had supposedly improved in the recent years... Please consider your position very carefully before buying Beko.
