Stayed at SHARPENTON LODGE in Nov 2012 as a party of 3 couples. We all found it stuffy, airless and uncomfortable. This lodge is so busy trying to be ECO-FRIENDLY that it forgets to be USER-FRIENDLY. It has an air recovery system which does nothing to freshen the air inside, and a request not to open the windows. The bedrooms were way too hot and we had no control over the heating. Also no top windows in bedrooms to let in fresh air. After a couple of days we all felt listless and headachy. There are no window dressings in the lodge except the thinnest voile in the 2 ground floor bedrooms. Apparently, according to the owners, curtains/blinds would "spoil the view". It felt far too open and exposed in Nov., goodness
knows what it must be like later in the year with bright sun beating through the vast exspanse of glass, and no way to darken the bedrooms at night. There was also only one key to the property when we could have done with 3 (1 per couple). We did take this up with the owners but were told we were the only people who'd ever found it a problem and what was wrong with leaving the key under a stone when we went out. Not a holiday property I'd recommend or want to re-visit.
