“couldn't even finish my purchase”

I have tried to buy a wardrobe but the website was asking me to pay in 12months - I didn't want to pay in 12 months - wanted to pay immediately so they advised to close the existent account and to open a cash account.
I said "ok"
Then after that they couldn't open the cash account because I needed to wait 24h - I waited! called again and asked for my account to be open so that I could finally buy my wardrobe and they say "I am sorry - you have to wait 7 days until we can open a new account for you" - what does very thinks they are? a bank?
The most ridiculous system I ever dealt with - going to buy my wardrobe somewhere else - worth to pay £50 more!!!
