Scottish Pantry, Castle Douglas

I don't think that i would recommend a cafe to a friend that charges £1.85 for a mug of cappuchino yet a mug of "white" coffee which is exactly the same - the staff have admitted to this - is only £1.50. I think the manner of some of the more senior members of staff are appaling as they look at the customers as though they are dirt and can be easily seen talking about the customers.

before purchasing my "meal" i would have liked to have known i would be charged extra for certain things, for example, instead of having salad and coleslaw with my meal i would have liked to have had a few chips, i was still charged original price for the meal although not having either coleslaw or salad and then an extra £1.50 for the privelide of having a few chips on the side of the plate, which weren't even enough to warrant it being charged the same amount as a side portion.

ORDERED SOUP AND A SANDWITCH ,THE SOUP WAS A BIT SLOPPY, AND THE CORONATION CHIKEN SANDWITCH WAS EVEN WORSE. IT CONSISTED OF A FEW BROWN BITS OF CHICKEN MEAT'TOLD WAITRESS IT WAS DISGUSTING AND SHE SAID NO ELSE HAD COMPLAINED.

We went into Scottish Pantry, Castle Douglas today at 11.30 and when the waitress came to the table for our order we ordered 2 coffees and 2 bacon rolls as it looked as though they were still serving breakfast at other tables. We were told by the waitress in a rather surly manner that they did not do this at that time of day.

I am on medication which requires me to eat when I take it I did not want a full meal so we did not bother and we just got the coffees this took 10 mins to bring even though there were only about 5 people in the place. shame really as we have been going there for some years now but never again the coffee by the way tasted cheap and nasty never again.
