As a newcomer to Manchester Airport and the car hire system there I found transport from the terminal builing to Car Hire Village easy to locate and quick, with a telephone connection at the bus stop to enquire when the next bus would arrive. The little budget Hyundai car I received from Alamo was better than expected with a/c, sunroof (would have been in the summer!), USB port, heated front seats etc. It was very nearly brand new and very economical to run.
Unfortunately returning the car wasn't so easy and I was thankful I'd left plenty of time. There are road works on the return approach to the Car Hire Village with very delayed traffic queues at the lights. I didn't know where the nearest petrol station was and missed the badly placed temporary sign to the Car Hire Village. However, I stumbled on a petrol station and the staff kindly directed me back to Car Hire Village although I had to wait for a considerable time at the road work traffic lights again, causing me some stress not knowing how long it would take me to return the car.
Thankfully parking the car and returning the keys took a matter of seconds and the bus to Terminal 3 was waiting and took me there promptly.
