“Avoid like the plague”

I have also had a bad experience with this company. I thought it would be a great idea if my daughter bought her own car, that she learn and drive with a supervising driver. RCIB was the cheapest quote I found online at £1193. Which I thought was great for a 17 year old but when they did their call back. I was appalled that policy ran for 12 months. So if my daughter passed her test in this time. She would not get a refund on this policy but if she paid £5000 she would have full cover for another year. I was totally gob smacked when they told me this and told them I would like to cancel the policy. To which I got the hard talking you can't do that etc etc. To which I informed them of a calling of period and got the reply "where did you hear that? You now have to take out the insurance as we can't cancel it." After many minutes of arguing on the phone. I was then informed there would be a fee to cancel the policy but not told how much. By this point I got my mobile phone and started to record the conversation and also noticed that the monies had been taking from my account. To which I got angry with the sales rep and said "you have took the money from my account" to which he replied "as soon as you enter the details online. The money will come out." Well as stated on their website the policy does not start until someone calls you but they our quick to take your money before this. Well after about 30 mins of the rep repeating the same story. The rep then decided to speak to his manager. 5 Minutes later he informed me I would get a full refund.

I think the tactic of this company is to wear people down until they agree to the policy and make money from conning people into buying their services. Then to charge cancellation and admin fees. I am still awaiting the refund and have no policy with them.
