“Are products safe?”

Bought Glucosamine from store. After taking a few noticed that each tablet was slightly different.
When I spread then out on sheet of white paper you can see varieations in colour from capsule to capsule. I took photo and sent to Holland and Barrett customer service.
They were not interested in investigating product just told me to take to store and get replacement.
Now these products were visually bad but unless they investigate any hidden problems will never be discovered.
After big argument with supervisor at H & B they agreed to investigate replace product and offered £10 of good will gesture.
They say the product is compliant but how do they know from just a photograph.
Are other products safe if they are not interested in products that are obviously faulty?
