“Battery life poor - will not operate for the full 18 holes”

written by Unhappygolfer on 22/09/2012

I unfortunately misplaced the purchase receipt for my Motorcaddy S1 within the first 12 months of ownership and so when the battery started to deteriorate, the supplier thought that it was outside the warranty period and neither of did anything about contacting the manufacturer. I just chose to push the thing round the last few holes and put it down to experience, especially when the retailer didn't really show any sign of customer care.

Then, low and behold, I found the receipt and that it was actually still under warranty at the time it was reported. I explained this to MotorCaddy themselves and as nice as they were on the phone, because it was now three weeks after the twelve month warraty had expired, they wanted me to purchase another new battery at £59.

I think the system is good and it's easy to use, but as far as back up, 1 out of 10 unfortunately. I know laws are laws but there is something this day and age called consumer confidence and this shoddy "tough luck pal" attitude ought to be managed better by a large retailer such as these. I can afford to pay the £59 and will do so begrudgingly - whilst at the same time spreading the word not to expect too much of a great customer service experience. Having spent over £300 plus accessories and then getting a friend to buy one the week later, I kind of hoped for more.

Buyer - BEWARE!!!!!
