I Can Only Assume Tesco Mobile Have Improved 10 Fold!!
I think this will be currently the only 5 star review of Tesco Mobile!! This is most certainly NOT reflective of their service - but perhaps more reflective of the perceived relevance of Reviewcentre itself (which to me is a travesty).
I have been with Tesco Mobile since I think 2005 - having finally squeezed the PAC code out of Vodafone to enable me to leave them. I've had nothing but superb and very friendly customer service out of Tesco Mobile, together with the kind of data/price ratio that none of the actual networks can compete with. For example I'm currently on 7Gb data per month for £12.50. Please do check and try and find me anything remotely close to that, and if you do, let's talk again in about 6 months time, whereupon I find that network has suddenly hiked up my monthly contract. It is important to note here that Tesco Mobile are the ONLY provider who will guarantee you no mid-term price hikes for the length of your contract with them. The fact that all the other networks are too greedy to offer this, should also be noted.
I have had a couple of issues with my billing. I called Tesco Mobile about these issues. They apologised, and not only wrote off the billing error, but also gave me a free month to compensate. When I checked my account, I found that they had indeed done everything they said they would do.
In addition to this, when I went SIM only with them, and I enquired as to whether I could switch to a slightly more expensive contract, the staff member said she could offer me an additional 500mb of data and keep me on the exact same charge. Needless to say I was overjoyed with this. 500mb is not a lot in 2017, but bear in mind this happened a few years ago now when I was using date a lot less than I am now. But most critically of all to note with this - it wasn't even close to my contract renewal - and they still offered me this.
Finally, being run by Tesco they do of course have physical stores, and although they don't carry the full range of phones in stores that are on their site, their staff are always so kind and helpful - particularly to my mum (who I cajoled into signing up). She often has the silliest 'issues' with her phone as she isn't very tech savvy, but whenever she has been to see staff at Tesco Mobile they have always patiently helped her and always resolved the problem.
For those who don't know, Tesco Mobile use the 02 network and this has worked fine for me in almost every area of the country - bar the deepest darkest depths of beyond in Devon - but then when you're staying in a converted farmhouse, in a field, surrounded by 10 more fields, you're going to struggle.
I'm saddened to read so many negative reviews here but then they are historical ones. I thought it might be helpful to write up a bang up to date one. If Tesco Mobile were so bad, it's questionable how they'd manage to win the Which? Best provider award that many years in a row, along with other awards - particularly for customer service. Maybe like most ventures of this nature things may have started badly, but they must have upped their game in the intervening years, and I would not hesitate to recommend them now.

Rubbish Service
Took out 24 month contract on Samsung for personal and business use - particularly wanted to pick up e-mails. E-mails suddenly stopped coming through 11 June. Sorted after 3 calls to support. Signal for our area has never been good but recently has got worse and worse. Can not even get an urgent text through over a distance of less than a mile. Support staff no help. Feel fobbed off. Been promised it will be fixed as mast down, but no idea when. Have aged relatives we need to keep in contact about. This service is a waste of time and money. NOT the service I expected from a big name like Tesco. If I had known I would have these issue after only a year I would NOT have gone with Tesco and urge others to boycott them.
Update - I got no better service from O2 when I contacted them about the signal.

Tried to order a phone online and after process got a message oops something has gone wrong please try again. I did. It failed again so I rang their sales who told me I now had two accounts and two phones on the way. I asked them to cancel one they said they could not, but I could return one and close one of the accounts. Two phones arrived with different numbers to the account numbers so neither worked. Tesco had the cheek to ask me where I got them from.... err you sent them to me. Here we are a week or so later. They have had one back but no refund. The second account is not closed no matter how many times I have asked. You are put on hold for hours. Nobody seems to be able to actually do anything. Frustratingly bad service and you are passed from one person to the next and have to start all over again. No wonder Tesco are going bust. They are dire.

Made To Feel Like A Thief
Ordered this great phone package advertised in the Sun,over the phone, 2 weeks went by,no phone! rang to ask about it, Tesco said they would look into it...THEN numerous letters from Tescos debt collection agents,OMG! lucky for me I kept all e-mails,letters,etc from day one and was able to prove I had not and did not have the use of a Tesco mobile phone,at this the letters from the wolf pack stopped.And I had £10 taken from by bank account !! no apology no refund.So happy I kept my 6 year old brick on mega reliable Virgin, '.BEWARE THE WOLVES.

Don't Use This Company
A really poor company who do not care about their customers will try there best to rip you off, they are only interested in getting money out of you they will leave you on hold for 20-30 mins at a time, if you ask for a manager they are always busy. I took a contract out with them it was the worst mistake I've made in a long while poor reception , poor customer services generally a poor company.

I have recently took out a pay monthly phone contract with tesco mobile. Its a basic phone nokia 300, for my dad. The phone had problems which tesco blamed on the signal that would soon be fixed. The phone got worse and started to turn itself off, tesco said there was now a fault and sent it to them to fix, which I did. Tesco rang to say they are refusing to fix the phone and I've had work done to it unauthorised, which I haven't. I kept ringing tesco to speak to advisers and start a complaint but tesco passed me from department to department and did not help me. An advisor said to me 'It's our word against yours' I also got asked to buy another phone, and even put on to the sales department to purchase another contract! After speaking to me once, the complaints team then refused to speak to me as apparently they only speak to a customer once! The service has been terrible, Its been very very stressful, they have not listened to my complaint, have given me no options, and have still tried to sell me more products. Its a service I would definitely recommend, I'm now left to pay 15 months of a contract to them with no phone! Tesco were not willing to help, they did not treat me with any respect and I've been called a liar every time I've tried to speak to them.

Faulty Phone
i jave a iphone 3gs which i got from tesco on a 2 year contract, 13 months in the volume button fell off it as it is only glued on and is a common fault with the 3gs, i rang tesco only to be told by some one in their customer services department who is totally unaware of the law that there was nothing they could do as my mobile was over 1 year old..... "i think not" i told mr tesco... i reminded said tesco of the soga 1979 and the 1999/44/eu which pretty much says unless i have bounced my phone off a wall, which i aint, that a £400 handset should be durable enough to last more that 13 months without bits dropping off it! long story short.... as per tesco arrogance that they are above the law i`ve just handed in my claim into the local county court for £119 to have it fixed at their exspence and my costs!! i`ll let you all know how i got on,......

Didn't Deliver, And Don't Care
It all seemed so good at first, the website was easy to use, they offer club card points and they delivered the phone as promised. Unfortunately several months on they have failed to deliver the case.
Email communication consists of promises of delivery, but honesty is clearly not a priority as every single delivery date has been missed.
Phone communication is the same saga of broken promises but mixed with rude aggressive staff. What is particularly annoying is that had the case not been offered I would have ordered one off Amazon and had it months ago. If they could manage some truthful communication over delivery then I could just get a case without worrying that a second one would arrive the next day.
Customers should be clear that this company is not part of Tesco, and complaining to Tesco will do you no good. Clearly Tesco don't care that their reputation is being sullied.

Cancelled My Account But They Still Took Money From Bank
I phoned them to cancel my rolling contract during July '12. I asked for 10 days use on the sim, then switch it off. The last payment was taken at start of August. Or so I thought. Just checked bank account and they are still taking payments and are only willing to offer me a refund of £10!!!!!! CUSTOMER SERVICE IS REALLY POOR - they admitted that the SIM should have been deactivated but are not willing to give me my money back. AVOID!
