“faulty product but Mcafee do not do refunds”

My husband purchased Mcafee internet security 2012 for 3 computers and tried to install it on his computer. It wouldn't install so he phoned Mcafee customer service who tried their best but had to escalate it to the point where the advisor said that my husband needed to completely remove his browser and various other files, and then reinstall them. This went on for weeks but Mcafee wouldn't download. When my existing mcafee protection expired I tried to use the one my husband had bought. However, it download and installed but could not be activated. I phoned Mcafee. There began several weeks of to-ing and fro-ing, but it could not be activated. Eventually Mcafee agreed to refund as the item seemed to be faulty but (buyer beware!) they will not refund unless you have the original receipt. We will never use Mcafee again, and would not recommend the product or the company.
