“Love the Saint Germain Odeon”

written by RachelAllisson on 21/07/2012

I have been in the Saint Germain a couple of times. Both last year, and the year before that. It is located right in the middle of the most beautiful square in the latin area in the left bank of Paris. Not far from there is a great coffee shop called "Les Editeurs" where I took my breakfast, and I really enjoyed people watching.
Oh, don't get me started about the characters there! It's really funny. There was this postman person who came with all the mail every morning and threw a bag full of envelopes and postcards right at the door! He had a huge mustache and a loving face.
The room wasn't too big, but was really nicely decorated. Very small TV set but who cares when you are in Paris. It's better to take your time to sit in a bar during the evening and enjoy a good glass of French wine. Not too far from the hotel there is a great street called rue Buci. This is where all the action is happening in the late evening. You can choose from a number of places, but my favorite was a place called Bar du Marche, where all the waiters are dressed like clowns. Lot's of beautiful people there!
Overall, I really recommend this place. It's cool and I love the location. Maintenance could be a bit better, though.
