“Bosch AXT2000HP 200w Electric - I have previously used...”

Written on: 17/07/2005 by StuartHarold (1 review written)

Good Points
Quiet. Self-feeding. Miles better than impact shredders.

Bad Points
None really. Costs double the price of a cheap impact shredder.

General Comments
Bosch AXT2000HP 200w Electric - I have previously used a Power Devil impact shredder but was extremely unimpressed. It was hard work feeding it, it constantly jammed and in the end blew up. I was going to give up on DIY shredders until I saw the good reviews for this one. I bit the bullet, splashed out £175 and never looked back. It handles branches up to 3.5cm thick effortlessly, pulling them in quickly and spitting out 1.5cm chunks the other end. If you alternate between woody material and leafy material it never jams or clogs. It does tend to whip the branches around a bit as it pulls them in so stand well back and wear gloves and goggles (especially when dealing with brambles or rose cuttings). In this case it certainly worth while paying the extra.
