“Customer service.....Really?”

I have just returned from my trip to Spain.  I contacted aer lingus on the 17/05/12 to advise of a recent knee injury.  I was instructed by the airline to submit an incad form which I returned on the 22/05/12.  This was confirmed as having being received. I was told that I would be contacted when a decision had been made as to whether or not I would be allowed to fly.
After going to the trouble of downloading the incad form, driving to Belfast (a 44 mile round trip) to get the doctor at the hospital fill out the form, I would have expected at least some form of reply in the 3 & a half weeks from sending the documents and flying out.
To arrive at the airport with my family on the morning of our holiday, not knowing whether or not I would be allowed onto the aircraft, was simply outrageous.
