The Patterdale Terrier as a working dog i believe it is top terrier,as a family pet again top marks.i've found mine to very good with small children and other dogs, but any other pets forget it.if u live in the countryside this would be an excellent small dog for anyone who enjoys a good hours walk everyday .but be careful near roads they do bolt for rabbits foxes, just about anything that moves.and if yours is like mine if he gets hold of a rabbit or fox it's goodnight mr fox, rabbit.but you have to remember this is what they have been bred for.house trained within 3 days when got at 3 months old.highly recomend all types of patterdale as spoken to other owners.not snappy as other terriers will sit on lap for a while then lie on floor these are not lap dogs but great choice for pet or worker. Obedient loyal character. Only bad point is will chase anything that moves!
