“Zenith sales methods, still in the 1970's”

Written on: 04/05/2012

Gave Zenith one last chance to quote me a price without the usual rigmarole. The manager of the Ipswich branch assured me that this would be the case. Salesman sat for 2 hours working out what he said was a competitive price for 3 windows and a front door(£7900.00). Apparently I was meant to be thrilled with this low price which was guaranteed for 2 years as the front door alone was £3600.00. Needless to say I was not impressed with the price and after several phone calls between the salesaman and the Ipswich office I was offered all of the usual discounts including the last remains of the local discount giving a new low price of £3200.00 for everything. I priced the door job with my local builderand was quoted a total, including fitting of approx. £650.00. You do the maths. Zenith why dont you work out how much the product costs you add on the cost of the fitter, the salesman and any aftercare and then add a reasonable profit margin and cut out this dated and frankly irritating charade you call salesmanship. If your salesman had quoted £3200.00 in the first place I would have agreed a discount of 10% and you would have achieved a sale of £2900.00 approx.Your loss
